More recently there has been a surge in interest in electric scooters and since they have been introduced to major cities all over Europe it has caught the attention of many people but we have seen that commuters, in particular, have found them a safer and quicker way to travel to and from work.
Electric scooters are so much fun and depending on the make and model you can go as far as 6 miles to 25 miles before you need a recharge. A recharge generally only takes 3-4 hours for a full charge but again this depends on the make and model. If you are looking for an electric scooter to help your day-to-day life and something that you plan on using every day then we would definitely advise that you think carefully about how much you are going to spend on your electric scooter. We have said before you get what you pay for and you really need to do your research on which electric scooter will be best for you. Although the prices vary over the electric scooter spectrum that’s usually because of the specification of the electric scooter.
A typical adult scooter weighs under 30 lbs, has a 250-watt motor, a 250-watt-hour lithium battery, has a top speed of 15 mph, a range of up to 10 miles, but of course there are much bigger wattages out there, you don’t have to look far, check out our webpage to find your next purchase at Electric scooter-UK.

Can I Ride Electric Scooters On The Pavement?
No, it is illegal to ride electric scooters on roads, pavements and cycle paths. This is because of an old act which states that electric scooters are classed as powered transporters by the government and fall under the same strict rules. We have discussed on this platform before that there is change coming to the way the UK sees electric scooters and rules are changing. From what we can gather in the research we have taken part in riding on pavements will never be legal and in fact you will only be able to legally ride on the roads and cycle paths. Right now, you can ride your electric scooter on private land but our advice is to avoid riding on pavements, stick to the rules.
Why Are Electric Scooter Illegal?
Electric scooters are currently illegal because some don’t have rear lights or number plates plus you can’t indicate while using an electric scooter which means they cannot be ridden legally on our roads in the UK.
It does seem a massive shame that right now electric scooters are illegal and don’t have the same laws covering them as Electric bikes do.
So, we have been advised by our sources and through research that electric scooters could become legal as soon as 2022. The UK is one of the last countries in Europe to make using an electric scooter legal on our roads. They are currently not legal in the UK unless they are on private land and have permission from the land owner. So, fingers crossed that by the end of 2022 electric scooters will be legal forms of transport on the roads and cycle lanes.
